First Blog

I'm Caroline.  I am from a small town in South Carolina.  I am an English Education Major at FSU, hoping to teach English as a second language overseas.  I love to travel, try new foods, and meet new people.  Currently I'm taking a technology for education course at FSU, so I'll be sharing my journey in the class here on this blog!

To start, I've had a lot of different experiences with technology in educational settings before.  I've had teachers use technologies like the SmartBoard or the StarBoard, as well as Kahoot and clickers.  I've used online classrooms such as Canvas, Google Classrooms, and Pearson's MyLab.  I've even used different technologies as study tools, like Quizlet.

I have had lots of experiences with technology in educational settings.  However, I hope to learn more technologies that I may not be familiar with, as well as new ways to use the technologies that I already am familiar with.  I hope to learn some teaching techniques and technologies that I can use in my classrooms in the future.  I'm excited to see what this semester has in store!

  1. That's great, Caroline! Have you had any experiences working with EFL/ ESL students? Many ed tech can assist the second language acquisition. For example, Diigo, which will be covered in this class, can be an interesting tool to facilitate collaborative annotation.
